In the previous pages the d'Alembert money management system was applied to Red/Black bets. Depending on
what increase/decrease level of betting is chosen you have a chance of over 60% to come out winning after 18 spins.
That is more than when flat betting would have been used.
One should not forget though that there also is a up to 26% chance of going bankrupt if the 'Martingale' type of
increasing the bankroll is chosen. This is more than when the Martingale would have been used (Martingale has only 6% chance of getting bankrupt
after 18 spins). However the average gains are with $132,51 higher than the Martingale average gains of $109,58.
If you are willing to accept losses this is a more profitable system than the Martingale. However a winning chance of 60% is not a lot.
Doubling your bankroll is not easy with this system. Starting with $100 and having a minimum of $1 bet
only with the doubling variant you have about 7% chance that you can double your bankroll withing 18 spins. By increasing/decreasing with $1 there is
no chance of doubling your bankroll.
Below a summary of the d'Alembert strategy when betting on Red or Black.
The starting point was a $100 bankroll, and minimum bets of $1. The strategies are not only rated on
the chance to come out winning after 18 spins ( win%), but also what the average winning bankroll is (Av. Win) and
what the average bankroll is for the strategy, including the losses ( Strat. Av.). Note that for normal bets
the strategy average bankroll after 18 spins is smaller than $100 due to the House edge.
| Strategy making gains: | win% | Av. Win | Strat. Av. | doubl% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| d'Alembert doubling/half | 65% | $ 132,51 | $ 91,61 | < 7% |
| d'Alembert increase/decreass by $1 | 60% | $ 107,69 | $ 98,60 | 0% |
